Item Description
14.75x20" c. 1919-20. Easel back cardboard sign has wonderful art by Alfred Leeze showing "Father William", a character from Lewis Carroll's Alice In Wonderland, carrying tray of full glasses of beer to open air car which holds 30 happy men, plus the driver. Leeze designed famous Lord Kitchener poster for WWI which had text "Your Country Needs You" which inspired James Montgomery Flagg to do Uncle Sam version in US. Sign has some dust soil with a few moisture marks at top and a hairline scratch on side of car. Fine. Wonderful design with bright color.
