Item Description
9.5x12" 4-page sheet of art paper has nice lead pencil front cover art by the artist-creator of Superman Joe Shuster. Title reads "And Now...Superman In Television! Visual Education" and has image of kids watching TV screen which has teacher gesturing towards picture of Superman flying with small boy standing nearby. Art is signed near bottom of scene with artistic signature Joe Shuster. Back cover has lead pencil art of woman resembling Lois Lane. Art is c. 1946 and done for series of educational comic books that Shuster was working on for DC Comics. Comes with clippings from mid-1940s magazine promoting the coming age of television and its learning possibilities. Art paper has a few lt. handling creases and is a bit yellowed here and there but overall will mat and frame to Fine/VF appearance. An historic piece of original art and one of the last Superman related Joe Shuster drawings while he was employed by DC Comics in the Golden Age.
