Item Description
9x12" thin art board has wonderful ink and marker art of Batman and Robin swinging on ropes. Art is signed in ink at lower right "Jerry Robinson San Diego '04". Art was purchased directly from Mr. Robinson at the San Diego Comic-Con. Jerry Robinson began working as an assistant to Bob Kane in 1939 and is credited with creating the Joker in 1940. He eventually became an editorial cartoonist and was also president of the National Cartoonist Society from 1967 to 1969 and president of the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists for two years beginning in 1973. He was inducted into the Comic Book Hall of Fame in 2004. Exceptionally well done image by one of the top artists of the Golden Age of comic books. Exc.
