Item Description
16.75x20" thin art board has wonderful ink and litho pencil art of Uncle Sam building an ark titled "Preparedness" and using a hammer titled "Popular Sentiment" as "War" clouds loom on the horizon. Art is titled in pencil at bottom "The Modern Noah". Signed in ink "Hershberger" at center bottom of image. Art has some dust soil and a few lt. handling creases, top margin and bottom margin edges both have a 1.5" tear which goes a bit into art area. Will mat and frame to near Fine appearance. Well drawn. Hershberger would go on to open a cartoon correspondence school and also created the "Funny Business" cartoon panel series.
