Item Description
Allied Artists 1948. Style 1A poster is 27x41" for film which starred William Bendix, Claire Trevor, and Charles Bickford. Nice graphics include Bendix as Ruth waving hat to crowd in Yankee's uniform, talking to youngsters with baseball, with wife, and showgirls in center. Film was released the same year Ruth died and was an extremely sympathetic portrait following the legendary "Babe" from his troubled childhood to his last heroic day. The film recreated the most memorable highlights of his life intermingled with actual clips of Ruth himself in action, adding a documentary feel to the picture. Poster has horizontal and vertical folds as issued with some wear at fold intersections repaired on reverse with archival tape. Margin edges have a few tears in blank areas and top edge has horizontal fold .75" from the top in blank area. Main image area will mat and frame to Fine appearance. Bright color and great design.
