7.25x11x11" tall box has nice lid graphics including snarling lion in cage on top and functions on side panels. Rock Valley Toys made in Japan c. late 1950s. Lid has some wear around edges with some dust soil, side panels have a few small splits and top has small tear, all repaired on inside. Box overall VG/Fine. Lion pedestal is tin litho w/nice design and lion has mohair body with realistic shag mane, vinyl face with tin mouth. Pedestal sits on cotton-backed felt carpet with tin strips hidden beneath. Interesting concept was for person to take furnished wooden wand and touch these hidden strips causing toy to operate. All actions work well and include roaring, sitting up and moving legs and sitting back down. Box text concludes "Now, You've Become A Real Lion Trainer". Trace of lt. wear but overall VF/Exc. Great design.
