Item Description
Alps, Japan c. early 1960s. 6-7/8x9-3/8x3-1/8" deep thin cardboard box has lid graphics of Santa playing drum set with reindeer pulling Santa's sled on drumhead of bass drum. Box has lt. crease along left side of top with 1" tear at lower left of side panel and bottom end panel. Right side panel has .5" tear at lower left side edge. Tiny bit of surface paper missing at Santa's left elbow and upper right corner text of lid. VG+ appearance. Tin litho toy is 9" tall and Santa has felt and plush covered outfit and beard. The separate drum kit is cardboard and tin litho with paper drum heads covered with thin cellophane w/same image as on box lid. Toy also has a separate foot-activated cymbals unit. Toy works and Santa plays the drums and cymbals unit as his head moves side to side and his eyes light. Has typical slight aging to white areas of outfit and beard but toy remains Exc. Great design and working.
