Auction #183 - Part II
Item numbers 1292-2528 in auction 183
Item Description
Funny animal stories were a staple during the early days of comic history. The idea that animals could act out our most base desires or expose human foibles goes back to the fables of Aesop. Round Publishing gave the title three issues until it saw cancellation. While none of the characters racing across the cover strike a note of familiarity, the concepts they represent sure do. Led by a dumb-looking, wild-eyed bear, the group is chasing a wind-up mouse. The scene could easily be taking place with any other large group of characters doing the chasing. The pages are cream to off-white. The book is CGC-certified 9.4 (NM). According to the CGC Census, this copy is tied with five others as the second highest graded copy they have seen.
