Item Description
Early 1900s. Printed by Calvert Litho Co. Detroit. 12x21-7/8" thin cardboard with two die-cut holes at top for hanging has 10x20" image area with choice graphics of pretty nurse holding bottle of "Centlivre Tonic Malt And Hops Extract" bottle in right hand and tray with drink in left hand. Top has company logo "Health Is Wealth". Right side has nice text including "Builds Up The System, Gives Strength And Enjoyment To Life!" Made by C.L. Centlivre Brewing Co. Fort Wayne, Ind. Many early patent medicines had high alcohol content and product shown on this sign was actually made by a brewing company. Image area has moderate amount of scratches and a few moisture marks here and there around blank margins with .25x1" bit of missing surface paper at lower right corner. Blank reverse side has remnants from masking tape removal. Overall VG/Fine. Bright color and great design.
