Item Description
Richie had made his debut in 1953 in the first issue of Little Dot. At first he was a back-up character. After a few years, someone at Harvey decided to see if he could hold his own. He made a few appearances in Harvey Hits. This title was similar in function to Showcase over at DC. The company would use it for try-outs of possible headliners. He wasn’t a super success and these were his only appearances during the fifties. Even though he wasn’t a major success, the company eventually gave him his own title. From this issue, great things started. He eventually became Harvey’s most important and profitable, character. The pages are off-white. The book is CGC-certified 9.2 (NM-). According to the CGC census this copy is tied with one other as the second highest graded copy they have seen. Second Highest Certified.
