Auction #203 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1428 in auction 203
Item Description
Large 1-7/16x1-11/16" tintype similar to Hake #3018 except on this he faces left. Item is from a series that included Lincoln and other Civil War Generals. This example is missing a paper label from the reverse as well a small brass ring once affixed to the top but visually its former presence is undetectable from the front and detectable only by a tiny notched cut out on the reverse upper edge of the brass mat. The tintype itself is in superb condition with essentially flawless emulsion. NM luster on the frame. A very striking piece of substantial size.
