Item Description
15/16". Hake #3021 with $900 value in Hake's 2004 Revised Prices. Unfortunately this piece does have a small degree of damage although the Greeley side still displays NM. The front has brass rim "For President 1872." Below his portrait is name panel "Horace Greeley." There is a small dent area around his shoulder at the right and in reflected light there is a tiny area just about an 1/8" dia. with near microscopic craze lines on the emulsion. The emulsion still remains 100% intact on the front. The reverse brass rim reads "For Vice President 1872" and below the image is "Gratz Brown." Because of the dent on the Greeley side some emulsion flaked off on the Brown side removing the first initial "B" of his name as well as details of his beard and the lower left corner of his cheek and mouth. Overall about 90% of his image remains intact and about 85% of the emulsion remains intact. The luster on this side is gone although it remains NM on the Greeley side. Complete with small brass loop affixed to the top edge of the frame although with a small break on the left where the loop meets the frame. Rare.
