Item Description
The Lone Ranger is one of the most popular and successful characters ever created. He first appeared on radio in Detroit in 1933 and quickly jumped into every medium possible. Over time he could be found in print, in newspapers, on the screen, and eventually in television. He was popular wherever he appeared and comics were no different. There were several different books published by several publishers, but few came close to the quality of this Dell Giant. The photo cover features Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels. These are the two actors who may be the most closely identified with the characters of the Lone Ranger and his faithful companion, Tonto. The movie was based on the popular TV show of the day. It is notable for its excellent use of Technicolor. The book contains art by Tom Gil. The covers Dell used in their Giants were heavier than a regular comic cover and they were considerably less pliant. The size combined with the type of cover they used means that it is very hard to find Dell Giants in good condition. The pages are off-white to white. The book is CGC-certified 7.0 (FN/VF).
