Item Description
Featuring a great photo of Babe Ruth himself, as well as several other members of the Baseball Hall of Fame, this issue is listed as scarce by the 2004 Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide. This book is considered to be part of the most significant run of sports-themed comics ever published. Between 1950 and 1952, Fawcett Publishing, recognizing that the superhero genre was dying out, tried to combine the nation's love of sports with its love of comics. During those years, Fawcett published sport titles that featured cover subjects such as Jackie Robinson, Larry Dobbs, and Joe Louis. In addition, they also published titles that featured baseball's pennant-winning teams of 1951, The New York Yankees and the Giants. This book, noted for its focus on the Baseball Hall of Fame, tells the story of several Hall of Fame members. It also features a Charles Dexter story. The pages are off-white to white. The book is CGC-certified 8.5 (VF+). This copy is tied with one other as the second highest copy certified.
