Item Description
The web slinger is one of comic’s most public heroes. From movies to magazines to CDs and DVDs, his presence is almost universal. This notoriety didn’t happen overnight. His fame and success comes because his creators laid down a tight, well-constructed base for his character. The early days of Spider-Man saw many of the core elements of his personal mythos come into being. This issue, #7, is an important early issue in his history. It features the second appearance of one of his earliest and deadliest foes, the Vulture. This repeat visit by the villain is essential in helping to create that early mythos. With a tightly-scripted story by Stan Lee and magnificent art by Steve Ditko, this issue is another thrilling part of Spider-Man’ early days. Ditko also drew the standout cover. By placing the emphasis of the action on the anticipation of the battle, as opposed to having them actually fighting, Ditko creates a wonderful feeling of dread for Spider-man. With this issue, the title went to a monthly publishing status. The pages are off-white to white. The book is CGC-certified 9.0 (VF/NM 9.0).
