Item Description
8.5x11" dated June 8, 1956 for June 9th, 1956 “Specialty Number”. Typewritten text includes $400 compensation and rehearsals to commence Wednesday, June 6th. Lower left corner has black ballpoint pen “Ray Charles” signature along with his telephone number and social security number. Lower right has been signed in blue fountain pen Roncom Production, Inc. Producer though name is illegible. Printed reverse side has terms and conditions. Contract is “Standard AFTRA Engagement Contract For Single Television Broadcast And For Multiple Television Broadcasts Within One Calendar Week”. Front text has a few shadow lines from carbon copy. Blank bottom margin edge has tiny .25" barely noticeable vertical tear but contract will mat and frame to N.Exc. appearance with NM signature area. Wonderful vintage item signed by the legendary rhythm and blues performer ranked No. 2 on the November, 2008 Rolling Stone list of 100 greatest singers of all time. Comes with Hake’s COA.
