Item Description
5 3/8x8.25" typewritten letter on “New York Journal American” stationary is dated August 8, 1965 congratulating third prize winner on winning “ Two $4.50 Tickets For The Big Beatles Concert, To Be Held At Shea Stadium On Sunday Evening, August 15th.” Letter refers to the group as “The Incomparable Beatles” and “The Fabulous Foursome”. Letter has three horizontal folds and has 1 5/8" clip off upper right and bottom edge has been trimmed. Center left side has 1" tear along with cellophane tape repair on reverse which has yellowed with age. Body of letter is still clean and VG. Comes with 3 3/8x5.75" newspaper ad offering chance to win tickets with text at top “A Go Go For Beatle Fans! Win 2 Tickets For The Fabulous Beatles Concert At Shea Stadium”. Ad has cellophane tape around three areas at top from being in scrapbook and original owners has written “One 2" in ink at lower left. Good. Interesting pair for legendary concert.
