Item Description
7/8" has photo without dot pattern surrounded by text "Welcome To The U.S. Navy/Faig's Photo-Montevideo." Reverse back paper has tiny inked notation on top edge "C125" while below this is the printed information of the photographic studio in the capital, the largest city and the chief port of Uruguay. This text reads on three lines "Foto Faig/La Hormica/18 Julio 968b." Button may have been inspired by a 1917 visit to the port by the Armored Cruisers USS San Diego, USS South Dakota, USS Pittsburgh, and USS Pueblo. Cello has scattered tiny surface wear marks only in reflected light. Exc. and displays Mint. First we've seen.
