Item Description
This rare 1.25" is listed as Hake Third Party #2060. Reverse backpaper has age spots but clearly readable is "Pat. Applied For Jan. 1908 Order Of Charles K. Cohn Milwaukee U.S.A." The same text appears on the bottom curl of the button. The front of the button is titled at top "1908 For President Robert M. LaFollette 1908." Below is his full color portrait flanked by a pair of columns each supporting a reclining lion. The left column reads "Equal Rights To All" and the right column reads "Special Privileges To None." Below a flying eagle displays a rwb shield. The button has light tan stain almost all on the outer edges rather than on or over the design with single exception of a very faint small gray mark on his forehead. A far right is a single 1/16" cut in the celluloid. This button is in the Hake's Revised Prices 2004 guide with a value of $1600. A modest opening bid.
