13/16" button has union bug on right edge. Hake #58 with 2004 Revised Price guide value of $252. The Teapot Dome scandal remained relevant during Smith's presidential campaign as the bribery incident which took place in 1922-23 during the administration of republican Warren G. Harding continued to drag on through the courts finally reaching the Supreme Court in 1927. In 1929, Senator Albert B. Fall was convicted of bribery and fined a hundred thousand dollars and sentenced to one year in prison, making him the first Presidential cabinet member to go to prison for his actions in office. Small loss of silver luster off the button's reverse which also includes a union bug. The celluloid itself Exc. and display Mint.
