Item Description
Hake #3104. This 7/8" with very young photo of FDR reads "For State Senator/Franklin D. Roosevelt" and is complete with its Bastian Bros. Co. backpaper. The button was used in his first 1910 political campaign when he was successful in winning a seat in the New York State Senate from his traditionally Republican home district. The button has only the most trivial wear in reflected light and is NM displaying Mint. In Hake's Revised Prices 2004 the guide value is $2900 although, as best as we can determine, it has been many years since one of these has been offered. While the minimum bid is conservative, we feel it would be well within reason if this item were to substantially exceed its 2004 guide value. The first we've been able to offer in 45 years.
