Item Description
1-3/16" brass with his portrait facing right surrounded by text "Franklin D. Roosevelt/Carry On." A circular opening on the top allows the piece to serve as a key fob. It appears this opening may have been slightly enlarged but still rather neatly done. The item seems to be from 1952 as the text reads "16th Anniversary/Midland Pioneers/Local 410/UAW-CIO/'36 Sit Down Strike." The item, even as an anniversary piece is rather historic as shortly after this strike on Feb. 11, 1937 the UAW-CIO won recognition as a union from the General Motors Corporation. See following related item. Each side of this piece shows some wear but overall condition remains Fine.
