Item Description
For same boxer as previous item #1219. Each is approx. 3.5x5.5" postally unused c. 1910. Three are French and one is British. One is titled "Salon Des Humoristes 1909" showing photo of statue of McVea with exaggerated features. British card is from "Boxing Series" #2038 with real photo of McVea wearing light gloves in boxing pose. Other two photos show him bare fisted and one has endorsement for apparent strength developing drink. Most text of this card is in French but has stamped text in English in corner that includes "No Bottle Genuine Without My Signature Sam McVea." Trace of lt. dust soil here and there but overall group is VF/Exc. Interesting photos. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
