Item Description
1.75" with W&H paper used only 1901-1912. Backpaper has four darker tan dots each .25" or less. The celluloid has a few faint tan marks on the outer most perimeter and at the right side a faint .25" tan mark below the word "Pioneer" and below this along the edge of the lady's dress are about a half dozen tiny 1/16" cracks in the cello but still laying quite flat and just barely noticeable to the touch or visually. Far left of the button has the slogan reading in full "When In Doubt Telephone And Find Out - Pioneer." This is only the second example we've seen of this exact design and it differs slightly from the version pictured in Hake's Collectible Pin-Back Buttons. The book has a lady with black hair and black telephone receiver at her ear whereas on this both her hair and the receiver are in brown along with small differences in her dress. A previous example realized near $300. Also see Southern Bell Telephone turtle paperweight #579.
