Item Description
8.5" dia. with depth of 4.5". 1930s. Has Disney copyright and marked "Foblik" which stands for "Forenede Blikkfabrikker" (United Tin Factories). Originally held cookies by Saetre Kjeks (Saetre Cookies). Several Disney tins were produced for this company and all are rare. Lid features old man dog holding a cookie and standing in front of a "Kake" stand. Mickey's nephews are next to him and one has a dog pull toy. Rim edge bears the name "Walt Disney." Wrap around art on the tin depicts a picnic scene with Minnie holding a cookie tin as Mickey chases after their nephews who are running with cookies in hand. Lid has obvious paint wear with areas of bare metal showing. Good. Tin has moderate scattered wear/aging with some minor indents but remains VG. Despite defects still nice for display and the only one we have offered in our 45 years. From the Michael J. Stern Collection.
