Item Description
1.75" with backpaper from Los Angeles maker Western Badge & Button Co. Spring pin holds suspended yellow ribbon with longer and narrower blue ribbon. While this button dates from the early 1930s rather than the nickname "The Galloping Ghost" this button uses his earlier nickname of "The Ice Man" which stemmed from a job in his youth when he took a part time position as an ice toter, employment which helped him build his core strength. Just above his shoulder on the right side is a pinpoint speck trapped under the celluloid which also causes a small 1/16" air spot. The button has light additional surface wear in reflected light but nothing that stands out in normal viewing. The piece displays essentially Mint as made. Only example we've seen.
