Item Description
The Knights of the Loyal Guard was a fraternal beneficiary society organized in Flint, Michigan Jan. 31, 1895. These two pieces are c. 1900. The 11/16" lapel stud is by W&H. The two-sided spinner, identical on both sides, has simply the word "Copyrighted" and no maker name but is also likely by W&H. This piece is 1" dia. In 1916 the group consolidated with a group named Columbian Circle, of Chicago. During their 21 years of existence they paid out more than one million dollars to the beneficiaries of deceased members. Great graphics depicting Roman-like warrior holding shield and spear. Morry Greener Collection.
