Item Description
Each is 3.5" with metal back and bar pin. The example in pink was for launching of ship "U.S.S. Royal Palm." This was launched in Stockton, CA "June 6, 1943." On December 7, 1943 is was renamed U.S.S. Cinnamon. This was an Ailanthus-class net laying ship which served in the South Pacific during World War II. The ship earned on battle star. The second item is for "U.S.S. Snowbell." This was launched "Sept. 14, 1943" and was the same type of ship as the other button in this lot. This ship operated in the Pacific Ocean but was destroyed by Typhoon Louise off Okinawa, Oct. 9, 1945. This has just a few tiny scattered age dots showing little. The other button is NM. This 3.5" size is exceptionally large for a ship launch button. Pair.
