Item Description
First is a 1898 full figure of Uncle Sam with rifle over shoulder as he marches to Cuba with "US" on his backpack. This piece is 1.5" tall with lapel stud reverse. Still has a good bit of muted gold coloration. Second is a 7/8" tall litho tin depiction of Uncle Sam designed to affix to a plug of tobacco by a pair of pointed prongs on the edges. Clean and Exc. Third is a wonderful die-cut celluloid bookmark 2-1/8" tall. The area around Uncle Sam's beard has a cut out and this is what slips over a page edge. Reverse of the piece has advertising from a Phila. business furniture and stationery firm by the name of "Wm. H. Hoskins Co." This is NM displaying Mint. Last is 3.75" tall thin die-cut cardboard printed identically on both front and back. This has a prong shaped base and is apparently designed to be used as a cake decoration. Exc. A wonderful graphic group of vintage items.
