Item Description
First is 7/8" button with backpaper by firm that was an early celluloid printer and with text reading "Made by Baldwin & Gleason Co/Limited/New York, U.S.A." While we've seen their name on plenty of lapel studs and metal button backs this is the first we recall seeing a button paper for this early celluloid specialty firm. Second is a 1-3/8" wide brass frame with reverse bar pin. Front consists of a pair of brass circles with circular accents while at center are real cardboard photos of "Kitchener" and Baden-Powell, later the founder of the boy scouts. Items date from 1898. Tiniest wear on the photos of the brass badge but still Exc. Pair.
