Item numbers 1429 through 3205 in auction 203
Item Description
17" tall stuffed felt. c. late 1940s. Very detailed felt outfit includes top hat and spats w/plastic buttons. Wire frame glasses w/celluloid google eyes. He holds a burlap sack w/felt dollar sign symbol. Attached to jacket is original name tag on stiff parchment-like paper that reads "Paperone" which is the Italian word for "Scrooge." Inside edge of jacket has "Lenci" stitched tag. Brim of hat has tiny hole on front edge where wire has poked through. Back edge of one foot has minor 1/8" hole. Minor defects and doll shows just light aging to the felt but all color remains bold and strong. VF. Wonderful doll and rare. The only example we've offered in our 45 years.
