Auction #203 - Part II
Item numbers 1429 through 3205 in auction 203
Item Description
1.25" has W&H paper with just slight age. Pictured is female performer within a clock face and her hands point to the Roman numerals representing 11 o'clock. Surrounding text is "Elks Fair Sioux City Jabour Circus/September 22 to 28." Jabour's Circus of Trained Wild Animals had exhibited at the Lewis & Clark Exposition in 1905 using the promotional line "One Hundred and Fifty Animals and Actors." The circus was apparently in operation from 1904 to 1911 by its owner George Jabour. The lower 50% of this button has a very faint tan age mark just a hair darker than the upper half. First we've seen and rare.
