Item Description
This piece is exceptionally long for a stickpin measuring 3-1/8" tall. The oval top has gorgeous enamel portrait of Buster Brown slightly raised against a golden brass background. There is a hairline sliver of his yellow hair missing from the far lower right side but it detracts little from the charm of the piece. Around the lower edge are the initials standing for the words "Buster Brown Blue Ribbon Shoes." Buster began endorsing the line of shoes in 1904 and we think this piece is among the earliest give-aways probably c. 1905. We've seen only three examples and our last awhile back exceeded $250. See following seven additional Buster items.
