Item Description
Three art boards are 21-1/8x28-1/8" with India ink image area including "Little Brother" topper strip and 16 panel Bungle Family strip. (See #2113 for history of this comic strip.) Other three art boards are 23x24.25" and are without topper strip. 1935 dates and titles include: Nov. 10 "Something For Nothing", Dec. 29 "Best Wishes". 1936 dates are Mar. 22 with no topper or title, Apr. 12 with no topper or title, May 17 with no topper or title, and May 24 with title "Help!". Storylines include George trying to get a spare tire home which he found in a trashcan, trying to compose a greeting and starting a fire with his cigar, neighbor in checkered pajamas walking in his sleep, watching neighbors get in a fight, trying to catch a turtle to make soup, and having a problem helping Mrs. Bungle unload groceries with prunes falling down steps. Each original is signed by Tuthill in ink in one bottom panel. Art boards have some wear around edges and image areas have a few moisture marks here and there with some dust soil. Dec. 29, 1935 page is tanned and has some glue stains in image area. Overall group has VG/Fine appearance. Funny and well drawn. All pages shown online.
