Item Description
Three items. 18x24" highly detailed and nicely designed paper map has crest at upper right which includes image of Admiral Byrd along with penguins and sled dog. Map includes image of South Pole, route of expedition, and the Bay of Whales. Map has horizontal and vertical fold as mailed with 4" split at right side fold repaired on reverse with archival tape. Bright and Fine overall. Letter is 5.5x8.5" with image of Admiral Byrd at top at Columbia microphone with box of Grape Nuts cereal in foreground. Letter promotes "Listening To The Weekly Broadcast Of Admiral Richard E. Byrd". Light horizontal fold through center as mailed, otherwise Exc. 9.25x12.25" envelope with return address of General Foods Battle Creek, Michigan has typewritten label addressed to recipient in Woodbury, NJ. Scattered lt. wear with a few handling creases and color rubs around edges. VG. Scarce, particularly with letter and mailer.
