Auction #204 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1446 in auction 204
Item Description
Three items. c. 1940s. Plaster statue is 9.75" tall nicely hand painted with image of young pregnant girl looking a bit embarrassed holding hat behind her back and looking down. Front of base has incised text "Kilroy Was Here!" A few small paint rubs but otherwise glossy, clean and VF. Rare. 11x14" lobby card is from 1947 original release for Monogram Pictures feature film which starred Jackie Cooper, Jackie Coogan, and Wanda McKay. All three are shown on card including Cooper at left side looking over board and iconic cartoon image of long nosed Kilroy himself looking over wooden fence in center. Blank margins of card have some lt. dust soil and a few lt. handling creases. Fine. 5" long metal mechanical floater pen has tube at top with text "Kilroy Was Here" which floats down when pen is turned upside down to reveal figure of pregnant woman in red outfit. Made in USA. Maker unknown. Scattered lt. wear and aging. Floater mechanism works well. Fine. Interesting group based on character created by WWII servicemen.
