Item Description
Each is approximately 10.75x13 5/8". Four are printed on newsprint issued as supplements to the New York American and Journal, all with four pages. They are: April 13, 1902 “Lady Bountiful” drawn by Gene Carr w/image of well-dressed lady surrounded by street urchins w/photo at upper right of Mamie Gilroy who made this song popular, July 12, 1903 “Poor Barney Mulligan” w/art by H. B. Eddy showing Mulligan in bed being frightened by insect villains w/photo at bottom of pretty singer Trixy Friganza, November 1, 1903 “Mister E. Z. Mark” w/art by F. W. Howarth showing him playing cards in parlor car of train and arguing with wife w/small photo near center of composer Earle Remington, August 26, 1906 “Hee Haw” w/image of Maud The Mule by creator F. Opper along w/text “A Comic Selection From The Maid & Mule” w/small inset photo at lower left of composer Sam Rice. Next sheet music is 9.5x12.5" ©1905 “Tell ‘Em Her Name Is Maud”subtitled “The Hit Of The Season” w/image of stubborn Maud laughing and sitting down while being pulled by pretty girl. Music has six pages. Last sheet music is dated 1918 w/four pages titled “At The Funny Page Ball” showing cartoon characters dancing including Krazy Kat and Ignatz, Andy Gump, Mutt & Jeff, Katzenjammer Kids, Old Doc Yak, and others. Lyrics also mention Polly and Her Pals, The Newlyweds, Happy Hooligan, Buster Brown. Four newsprint examples are tanned and missing a few pieces here and there around margins. Just Good. “Her Name Is Maud” title has trace of lt. margin wear but otherwise Fine. “Funny Page Ball” title is missing .5x2" piece at lower right corner. Blank inside margins have strip of transparent reinforcement tape at left and right side edges. Good/VF.Nice early group w/some scarce examples. Nice graphics throughout.
