Item Description
Lot of two. First is 12.25x17.25" graphic color print in 15.5x18.5" modern frame. Advertisement for Scribners November (1884). Top and bottom margins have noticeable chipping/wear. Top right corner missing upper portion of "S" in "Scribners." Margin issues do not affect bold, bright color/text above and below candidates images. Paper margins affixed to cardboard and not removable. Displays Fine. Second is 18x23.5" "The Republican Souvenir." With oval images of Blaine and Logan along with captioned vignettes of Lincoln signing the Emancipation Proclamation/Garfield giving speech on Wall Street "The Day Following The Assassination of Lincoln"/"Uncle Tom And Little Eva"/seated in a doorway a scene of a black man voting and black and white children attending a school with caption "Suffrage And Free Schools." Small text at bottom reads "Copyright 1884 By R.H. Curran & Co." Statues of "Justice/Liberty" appear on each side. This elaborate/detailed print has considerable darkness/wear from age and has been applied to art board for stabilization. Good. Both are rare.
