Item Description
As a long time friend of Nixon and his family, newsman Harry McLaughlin and family were invited to the Jan. 20, 1973 Inauguration. There are ten items in this lot, in addition to this primary item. First is complete and unused ticket #12675 for the "Inaugural Ball At JFK Center Saturday Jan 20, 1973 - Nine O'Clock - Black Tie." Across the bottom is autograph of "Richard Nixon." McLaughlin sent this to Nixon after the event and reverse has his ink stamp York, PA. newspaper address. The otherwise blank reverse has two .5" circles of surface paper off. Ticket has tiny bends on right corner tips but overall Exc. with bold signature. From the same event lot includes: a) Ball ticket #12676-has ticket admission taped (on reverse) to stub. b) Two ball ticket stubs for Box 288. One has small inked number in corner. c) Coupons for two drinks at ball. d) Two serial numbered tickets for ceremonies. One is tanned. e) Two "Child Ticket" for ceremonies. One is stub only. Other is complete but ticket is taped to stub on reverse. f) Two identical 5.25x7.25" invitations to the ball. g) Invitation 5.25x7.25" to "Governors of the State" event. Exc. except as noted.
