Item Description
Personal stationery 7.25x10.5" (two mailing folds) with printed text "Richard Nixon/26 Federal Plaza/New York City." Nixon writes to friend and newsman Harry McLaughlin who knew Nixon and his parents who were York County Pennsylvania residents. Over the years, Nixon made several visits to the nature park named in his honor upon his 1968 election. Letter is dated "10-7-81." Nixon writes "Dear Harry - Due To The Necessity To Go To Cairo Coupled With The Time Required In Our Move To New Jersey, It Won't Be Possible For Me To Come To York This Fall. I Shall Keep It On My Tentative Calendar For A Visit At A Later Date." He concludes with "With Warm Regards" and signed with his initials "RN." Comes with envelope postmarked October 8, 1981. Envelope neatly sliced open on one end. Letter is Exc. From the Harry McLaughlin Collection. Comes with Hake's COA.
