Item Description
Lot of six. Five are 10.5" dia. Each with various scenes of NY between 1791 to 1861. Text on back of each reads "Old New York/Commemorating The Inauguration Of George Washington At Federal Hall New York April 30, 1789 And The New York World's Fair 1939/Wedgwood/Etruria/England." Scenes are identified on back and include: "City Hall, Renamed Federal Hall, 1791/Castle Garden 1825/Broadway And The Bowling Greens Circa 1826/South Street Waterfront 1835/Iron Bridge, Central Park, 1861 (in blue)." The sixth plate is 11" dia. Depicts Washington looking at Trylon and Perisphere from balcony with text "Commemorating George Washington's Inauguration As First President Of The U.S.A. 1789. New York World's Fair 1939." Border vignettes show various various scenes of the fair. Back has graphic of Trylon and Perisphere and reads "Official Souvenir/New York World's Fair 1939." Manufacture hallmark appears above "Lamberton/China/Scammell/U.S.A." High quality. All NM.
