Item Description
1965 Robert Penn Warren poster is 17x22" for "Poetry Reading" at "Y" auditorium in Philadelphia on January 31, 1965. Poster is designed by Samuel Maitin who has signed the poster at the bottom "Samuel Maitin" in lead pencil. Reverse side is designed as a mailer and also includes biography of Warren. Credits include winning the Shelly memorial award for his first book of poetry, holding chair of poetry at the Library of Congress, and winning the Pulitzer Prize in 1947 for "All The Kings Men". Light handling creases and a few scattered moisture marks but all blends well and poster has bright and Fine appearance. Thomas Wolfe poster is 13.75x20.25" card stock for event held May 1971 at the "Y" in Philadelphia. His books are listed between his first and last name on the poster and include: "Radical Chic and Mau-Mauing The Flak Catchers, The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test, The Pump House Gang, The Kandy-Kolored Tangerine-Flake Streamline Baby". Trace of lt. dust soil and a few moisture marks at lower left. Blank top margin edge is missing a few tiny bits of surface paper. Fine. A scarce pair for two noted authors.
