18-1/8x24-1/8" brass accent metal frame without glass has wonderful acrylic painting done on Fredrix art board with 17.75x23-5/8" image area. Wonderful image of well dressed zombie gritting his teeth and clutching the top of his jacket with "The Dead" carved into his forehead. Art is signed at lower right "MER © '87". The book was first published in 1989 and the illustrated edition was first published in 2001. Image area is bright and Exc. Author-illustrator Mark Rogers is best known for the Samurai Cat book series, "The Dead" a horror novel about the end of world, and several books which are set in an alternate universe. The Dead is presently under development as a feature film with a screenplay by Rogers. His work has been adapted by Marvel Comics and he's published three art portfolios and a collection of his pin-up paintings titled "Nothing But A Smile".
