Item Description
Three items sent to female recipient in Newton, Kansas. Club card is 2.25x4" noting member is a flying cadet with her name typed in proper place. Reverse side has text pledge code with space for member’s signature but is unsigned. Card has a few lt. handling creases. Fine. Envelope is 3.75x8 7/8" sent from “Jimmie Allen Headquarters Hutchinson, Kansas” postmarked December 14, 1937. A few lt. handling creases and trace of lt. dust soil. Fine. 8.25x10.75" letter is first we have seen on “Jimmie Allen Flying Club” stationary with photo of Jimmie at upper left and promo text for Rainbo Bread at lower right. Text includes welcome to member, pledge code, and asking recipient to “Tell Your Friends To Get Application Blanks At their Grocery Store And Mail Them At Once”. Letter is signed “Happy Landings, Jimmie Allen Commander-In-Chief” and has P.S. promoting show “The Adventures Of Jimmie Allen”and Rainbo Bread. Letter has two horizontal folds as mailed, reverse side has barely noticeable 2" strip of archival tape on back on one fold line at right, otherwise Fine. Same sponsor also issued a wings badge. Nicely designed trio.
