Item Description
29.75" long pennant has large eagle in center against shield incorporating “U. S. CCC” logo. Felt pennant has original streamers at left side. Upper left corner has brass pin holding 1 1/8x5.75" ribbon with text “C. C. C. First Sub-District Field Day/Second Place Baseball/Rhinelander Wisconsin July 13, 1935". Moderate fading of pennant but still displays Fine. Ribbon is frayed at top and bottom but still Fine. Part of the New Deal of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, the Civilian Conservation Corp was a public works relief program that operated from 1933 to 1942 in the U. S. for unemployed and unmarried men aged 18 to 25. They were paid $30 a month, $25 of which went to their families.
