Item Description
7/8" with backpaper by Bastian c. 1910. Button reads "Rust University/Endowment." Pictured is beautifully colored large red brick structure surrounded by green foliage, white clouds and blue sky with the lettering in gold. This college was founded in 1866 by the Freedman's Aide Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church. The name was changed from "Rust College" to "Rust University" in 1882. In 1915 the name was changed back to "Rust College" so this button predates that year. Only example we've seen. Essentially Mint. Comes with Hake's COA.
