Item Description
2-1/8" button pictures Johnny 'Imani' Harris and also reads "End The Death Penalty." Harris was convicted in Feb., 1975 of murder for participating in a protest in which an Atmore, Alabama prison guard died. There were no claims that Harris was the actual killer. It was merely for his participation in protesting conditions later described by a Federal judge as "Barbaric, Cruel And Unusual" and "Unconstitutional" that Harris was sentenced to death. This button dates to around 1990 when, after 15 years, his conviction was overturned. Scarce and Mint.
