Issue contains 29-page story "Armageddon-2419A.D." by Philip Francis Nowlan which is the very first Buck Rogers story ever published and also represents the origin of space/superhero characters. Story includes five illustrations by noted pulp artist Frank R. Paul. First page of story has editorial text including "We Prophesy That This Story Will Become More Valuable As The Years Go By. It Certainly Holds A Number Of Interesting Prophecies, Of Which, No Doubt, Many Will Come True. This Story Has Impressed Us So Favorably, That We Hope The Author May Be Induced To Write A Sequel To It Soon." Issue also includes H.G. Wells story "The Moth." Covers have some lt. soil, especially noticeable on back cover at spine, spine has 1" seam split at top front cover. Lt. remains of pen numbers "150" on front and "20 & 13" in pen on back cover. Insides are lightly but evenly tanned, though not brittle. March 1929 issue is 8.5x11" Vol. 3, #12 with inside pages numbered 1057-1152. Issue contains 38-page story titled "The Air Lords Of Han" by Philip Francis Nowlan and is the second and final Buck Rogers pulp appearance, as well as his first cover appearance. Cover shows Buck as Anthony Rogers being startled by a metal sphere flying into the room where he is being held captive by villains. Art is by Paul who also did a full page illustration for the Buck Rogers story. Contents also include "The Worm" story by David Keller. .5" spine split on lower front cover. Back cover has lt. soil with .25" tear at one edge. Both issues lt. edge wear/aging but overall Fine. Both are historical publications.
