6.25x9.5x1.75" deep box for larger 9.5" long variety Daisy Rocket Pistol XZ-31. 1934. Box has "Buck Rogers" gun design with several science fiction/space images including spaceships, images of Buck flying and using gun as well as alien machines. Box shows heavy wear with splits, heavy creases and punctures. One end flap has two 1.5x1" missing areas as well as two interior flaps. Two end panels and other end interior flaps have old paper tape repairs. Good- but rare and still presentable for display. Great graphics. This same style gun was produced in two sizes, this is the larger 9.5" long variety from 1934. (See item #2848 for smaller variety gun with holster.) Gun is heavy blued steel with nickel-plated rocket nozzle and backlash deflector. Left side of gun has incised "Buck Rogers 25th Century" text and small full figure image of Buck on the grip. The nickel-plated pieces have slightest trace of aging but most bright luster remains. Body of gun has scattered tiny traces of wear with scattered all-over traces of minor oxidation which blend somewhat with the dark coloring of the gun. Still a working and Fine example, producing a loud pop when fired.
