5x7" hardcover w/slipcase. 1946 King Features Syndicate Inc. Cover and slipcase have snow-filled nighttime scene of church in valley and stars in sky by Prince Valiant creator/artist Hal Foster. Back cover art has snow-covered houses in village, moon in star-filled sky. Book has 160 bw pages w/text story by Charles Dickens. Full color frontispiece repeats scene from book back cover. End papers have specialty art w/multitude of King Features comic strip characters waiting to eat Christmas dinner at long table and decorated tree at left. Characters shown include Prince Valiant, Flash Gordon, The Phantom, Felix, Blondie & Dagwood, Mandrake, Popeye & Olive Oyl, Rip Kirby, Little Iodine. End papers on back of book show scene of King Features comic strip characters riding in Santa's sleigh w/Santa and reindeer. Included are Katzenjammer Kids, Henry, Smitty, Little King, others. Slipcase has lt. aging. Overall VF. Book cover is lightly toned o/w Exc. as are contents. Limited issue, primarily sent to newspaper editors. Well done.
